What Are Your All-Time Favorite New Wave Songs?

I was wondering recently if I were to make a DJ mix of my Top 5 all-time favorite new wave songs, what would they be? This wasn't as easy as I thought!

I know for sure my all-time favorite new wave song, perhaps even all-time favorite dance song period, is New Order's Bizarre Love Triangle (the well-known Substance version, not the earlier Brotherhood version). Wherever/whenever I hear it, I just gotta get up and dance. After that, it gets a bit murkier.

There are a lot of fantastic new wave songs, so it's hard for me to nail down the Top 5. I think numbers 3-5 could probably change any given week...maybe even any given day.

Well, enough contemplating; this ain't rocket science homework. Here's my list for All-Time Top 5 New Wave:

1. New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle (Substance Remix)
2. Kon Kan - I Beg Your Pardon (Special K Remix)
3. Depeche Mode - Strangelove (Bomb The Bass Mix)
4. Book Of Love - Pretty Boys and Pretty Girls (Extended Mix)
5. Erasure - Oh L'Amour (The Funky Sisters Remix)

Honorable mentions go to Depeche Mode's "Enjoy The Silence", Camouflage's "The Great Commandment", Cetu Javu's "Situations", New Order's "Touched By The Hand Of God", New Order's "Fine Time", New Scene's "Out Of Control (The Belgium Mix)", Nitzer Ebb's "Join In The Chant", OMD's "If You Leave", Peter Schilling's "The Different Story", Red Flag's "Russian Radio", Sandra's "Everlasting Love", the theme from S-Express, New Order's "The Perfect Kiss", and Erasure's "Love To Hate You (Paul Dakeyne Mix)".

How about you? What are your top 5 all-time favorite new wave songs?

What? No Blue Monday :-)?

I'm not sure Art or Noise's Close (to the Edit) counts as new wave, but it's the track which made me fall in love with music machines, so it's on my list.

Manhunter by Front 242, absurdly overplayed and also not exactly new wave, but a classic. Can I shoehorn in anything by Joy Division? Atmosphere or the B-Side In a Lonely Place.

Definite contenders:
I'm in Love with a German Film Star by The Passions
Warm Leatherette by The Normal
Lawnchairs by Our Daughter's Wedding
Down in the Park by Gary Numan
The Things that Dreams are Made of by Human League

I know what you mean about Close To The Edit...good call. And I think you meant Headhunter by Front 242? Definitely more industrial than new wave but I have a pretty broad definition of new wave so that's definitely in. Your other choices are also nice picks.
