Nonstop 80s Mix #29

Happy Friday! Here is a new 80s set that continues from Nonstop 80s Mix #27. If you remember the pop subgenre called "hi-NRG" during the 80s, you might get a kick out of this flashback mix. I start transitioning from Top 40 to hi-NRG in this mix. I've thrown in a hi-NRG track here and there in previous mixes but this DJ mix starts to focus exclusively on that style mid-way through the mix.

For those unfamiliar with hi-NRG, it's probably best described as high-tempo disco. It borrows some elements of new wave electronica (Wikipedia lists Dead Or Alive's You Spin Me Round as a hi-NRG track) but typically doesn't rely as heavily on pounding drum beats.

Playlist:
1. Prince - Raspberry Beret (Hot Tracks Remix)
2. Pebbles - Girlfriend (Dance Remix)
3. Rick Astley - My Arms Keep Missing You (Bruno's Mix)
4. Lime - Gold Digger (Remix)
5. Five Star - If I Say Yes (Extended Version)
6. Jason Donovan - Too Many Broken Hearts (Extended Version)
7. Michaela - Take Good Care Of My Heart (Extended Version)

Lime - Unexpected Lovers (Remix)

This is track 78 on Nonstop 80s Mix #23 (2008 Year In Review).

Since this track debuted in a "fast food" DJ mix, I'll be using again in a "normal" mix sometime down the road.
